We all are familiar with the way of how intelligence
and security agencies keep eye on everything happen in their territory all
thanks to those Hollywood movies which explains the technology and terminology
of their process, action and reaction of the secret security forces though its
not accurate but it can give you a good idea about how our spies may work.
In
this modern world, where globalization is changing the fate of various
countries and making them developed from developing instead of ignoring the
examples set by developed country about the cost they have paid to become world
leaders. Development is a very promising word for the entity of any country in
this world cause this world only listen to the powerful and to get that power,
to get the privilege in the global society any nation is not losing a single
chance to backstab each other as a result world is not safe anymore everybody
is vulturing opportunity to take each other down some do it for their revenge and
some for their interest but all them curtained those activities with cloth of
diplomacy or self defence but how can you damage other nation’s plan which is a
danger to yours interest without any evidence of your hand in that, in such
cases all ring the doorbell of their intelligence agencies which can play major
role in it instead remaining in shadow. Though India is a peaceful country but
its neighbors are not the believers of peace therefore India have to keep eye
on them every time and it is not possible through field agents all the time
sometimes you need technology to do the work for India that work is done by
NTRO.
NTRO
is India’s premier technical intelligence agency and known as one of the best
in the business. NTRO stands for National Technical Research Organisation which
report directly to NSA of India, NTRO who is also known as National Technical
Facility of India is parented by India’s famous Intelligence Agency RAW. The
road map of NTRO was prepared by the legendary scientist of India Dr. APJ Abdul
Kalam in October 2001 when he was the principal scientific adviser after the
intelligence gap in Kargil war as taking the reference of famous Russian
technical intelligence agency “Directorate X”.
NTRO
is consider as a state of the art technical wing of intelligence gathering
managed by group of ministers but their name remains a secret due to security reasons of the agency and the
ministers themselves. When NTRO was established it does not have proper
equipments to do the work it came in existence for, hence India seek help from
friendly countries who can provide the required equipments but their names are
classified due to security and other implications but it is not possible to buy
every equipment cause NTRO need some equipment which has to be developed due to
the demand of extremely diverse geographical conditions than the agency decided
to develop its own equipments and NTRO has gained success in developing
technological capabilities in aviation and remote sensing, data gathering and
processing, cyber security, cryptology systems, strategic hardware and software
development and strategic monitoring and all this successful developments paid
back when NTRO intercepted an out of Karachi. NTRO’s Intel is the reason of the
famous incident take place on New year eve 2015 when coast guards an navy
pursued unknown fishing boat at 200kms
west of porbandar port which was found in flames but the agency confirmed the
presence of 4 men on it before it catch fire. It was a big success for the
agency for such operations which various spying devices NTRO uses different platforms
like satellites, underwater buoys, drones VSAT – Terminal locators an fire
optic cable nodal tap points. NTRO have access to some Technology Experiment
Satellites name CORSAT 2A & CORSAT 2B, the agency also have two Radar
Imaging Satellites namely RISAT-1 & RISAT-2.
RISAT-1 (India's own spy satellite) |
As
one of the major intelligence agency of the nation it is the duty of NTRO to
protect countries valuable assets and possible targets for any unwanted event
and this duty is assigned to the child agency of NTRO itself known as National
Critical Infrastructure Protection Agency, NTRO is now proving as backbone of
Indian Defense with the work getting done by fine combination of man and
machine.
